Amsterdam Airport Schiphol introduced the popular Yotel accommodation concept early 2008. Yotel is an innovative hotel concept providing business-class hotel accommodation at affordable rates. The concept has been specially developed for locations where space is scarce. The rooms are 7-10sq m in size.
"In line with Yotel's worldwide expansion, we are delighted to work together with Schiphol Group and open a Yotel at the airport," said Yotel CEO Gerard Green. 'Yotel offers passengers the opportunity to relax for a few hours, have a rest and freshen up.'
The 56-room Yotel is sited inside Schiphol's terminal after passport control on the second floor of Pier D. Schiphol Group commented: 'Transfer passengers are able to enjoy a most comfortable stay here when staying at the airport. Departing passengers leaving very early in the morning can check-in the night before and stay at the Yotel until right before their departure'.
Yotel is the second in-terminal hotel located after passport control at the Dutch airport. Hotel Mercure Schiphol Terminal, which has 33 rooms, has been providing hotel accommodation there for many years.
